About US

The M Peters Foundation is founded in the works of McClymond's Legendary Head High School Football Coach Michael Peters.

For over three decades, Coach Peters has served his community as a coach, mentor, philanthropist, and community leader. Coach Peters' impact has become unmeasurable on and off the field as he has positively influenced countless lives. Through his mentorship, philanthropy and community engagement efforts, he has influenced and assisted in transforming the lives of re-entry populations, at-risk/promising youth, and homeless individuals.

His work is recognized by the State of California, Alameda County, The National Football League, San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders, and The City of Oakland.

Coach Peters receives numerous awards and accolades, including National HS Coach of the Year and California State Coach of the Year. Black History Month Honoree Award by The Alameda County Board Of Supervisors, 4 CIF State Championships, The Living Legend Award from First A.M.E Church of Oakland, and the Key To The City by Oakland Mayor Libby Schaff.

Our organization is designed to uplift communities by creating sustainable development projects, providing resources and hosting community-led activities that aid local underprivileged communities.

Programs

Bringing Change

Football & Life Skills Camp

Changing Lives Through Sports

Research evidence suggests that participation in sports and community-led programs leads to a significant reduction in crime and aids rehabilitation efforts by positively impacting at-risk/promise youth. We host an annual, free youth football and life skills camp. Over 500 youth are provided with a day of fun as they develop critical life skills such as honesty, respect, leadership, discipline, communication and teamwork. We also host an annual E-Football Camp to offer athletic opportunities to young children, particularly those  who are "differently-abled", to create a more inclusive team-sports environment.

Community Coat & Food Drives

Serving Our Community

We feed and provide winter coats to over 500 Oakland youth in an effort to ensure that they have coats to keep them warm and protected throughout the winter months. We also hope to alleviate the financial and mental stress that many local families face as they confront rising living costs and are often forced to make the difficult decision to purchase food or clothing for their children.

College & Career Tours

Bridging the Gap Between Education and Employment

We take over 65 students annually on college industry tours as a tool to enhance access and exposure to various colleges and career paths. Our goal is help local youth and adults overcome various environmental and socioeconomic barriers as they pursue their interests and develop their professional skills.
